Underage drinking is a serious public health problem in the United States. Alcohol is the most widely used substance of abuse among America’s youth. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), about 2.3 million young people ages 12–17 reported drinking alcohol in the past month. Believe it or not, while the opioid epidemic continues to rage on, alcohol abuse cannot be ignored as it is responsible for 40% more deaths than opioids. We are on a mission to stop the initiation of alcohol use amongst underage teens. Studies show that wearing alcohol branded merchandise during the teenage years related to higher incidence rate of alcohol initiation (25% vs. 13%)* amongst teens. We believe that wearing t-shirts with alcohol messages negatively influence teenage drinking behaviors. Spread the Word and Wear a Mission T-shirt! We need to work together to educate our family, friends and community about the dangers of underage alcohol use one Mission T-shirt at a time.
